Geriatrics

The Holly Hill med-psych, geriatric program is designed to meet the behavioral health needs of older adults who require supportive medical care. Our geriatric program includes a specialized medical evaluation, an assessment of daily living skills and a full psychosocial assessment and intervention. The program addresses a wide range of concerns including:

  • Depression
  • Suicidal Thoughts
  • Bi-Polar Disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • PTSD
  • Supportive medical care as required

A typical day on the geriatric unit includes group therapy, recreation therapy and wellness education. Patients see a psychiatrist and medical doctor throughout their stay and 24-hour nursing care is provided. There are also scheduled times when the patient will meet with his or her therapist individually.

As with our other programs, we encourage participation in treatment and discharge planning by the patient’s family or support system.  The geriatric program also participates in our Treatment Trails Programming.
