Adult IOP
We offer IOP treatment programs for adults 18 and up. Typically, people are stepping down from our partial hospitalization program (PHP). You have sessions three days a week from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Think of IOP as a step above weekly therapy — you get several sessions a week in a group setting, instead of one-on-one.
IOP Mental Health Services at Holly Hill Hospital: Why Choose Us?
Adults receive compassionate care from skilled mental health providers, including therapists, psychiatrists and nurse practitioners. We work with you to help you handle life’s stressors and become more confident in your daily life.
Highlights of our program include:
- Small groups: Your group therapy sessions have no more than 12 people, enabling you to receive personalized care.
- Tailored therapy sessions: Therapists tailor group therapy sessions to your needs and the needs of others in your class. You complete a self-assessment each morning, so the therapist knows how you’re doing.
- Medication management: You meet with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner every two weeks to discuss your symptoms and whether you’d benefit from medication. You can meet with these providers more frequently, if needed.
- Respectful environment: At Holly Hill, you’ll find a healing, nonjudgmental environment in which you can enjoy a sanctuary-like setting.
Mental Health Treatments We Provide
Healing looks different for each person. That’s why you’ll find a range of mental health treatments to serve your needs.
We use several types of treatment:
- Process group therapy: During group therapy, you share your concerns with others who are going through a similar experience. You learn to deal with your emotions better and gain perspective.
- Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT): This therapy is also called talk therapy or psychotherapy. CBT helps you tune in to your thoughts and feelings so you can improve how you respond to challenging situations.
- Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT): A type of talk therapy, DBT helps you accept your life and experiences and learn to change unhelpful behaviors. DBT can also help you regulate your emotions.
- Mindfulness: When you practice mindfulness, you become more aware of your thoughts and experiences and develop healthier ways of relating to them. It can help you develop acceptance and compassion for yourself.
- Expressive arts therapy: During these sessions you may draw, paint, journal, listen to music and more. These activities may help you work through and heal from traumatic experiences.
