Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) Treatment

The Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) is a structured, step above weekly therapy that bridges weekly therapy and Partial Hospitalization Program. Holly Hill Hospital offers IOP treatment Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. We also offer a new evening and weekend track on Tuesdays through Thursdays from 6:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Treatment at our intensive outpatient center focuses on further stabilizing acute mental health conditions in adults and senior adults, as well as providing the skill set and tools to work through mental health issues and manage symptoms. IOP is often a step down option after an inpatient treatment program, long term residential treatment or another restrictive level of care.

IOP Treatment provides a supportive environment while teaching life skills and coping mechanisms. Patients are encouraged to practice the skills they learn in group therapy in their home settings as they continue to live at home and perform everyday activities in their own community or work environments. The Intensive Outpatient Program provides a supportive transitional treatment period following inpatient hospitalization.

Treatment consists of three therapeutic skills-based groups. Treatment is administered by a treatment team which includes a psychiatrist, therapist and nurse. These skill groups include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness and Expressive Arts Therapy.

IS IOP RIGHT FOR ME?

Treatment at Holly Hill Hospital’s intensive outpatient treatment facility could be helpful for patients who may need more frequent outpatient sessions. IOP can also be helpful for those patients who are not effectively benefiting from weekly therapy.
